I couldn't follow what was posted. so posted my own recollection of what some folks had told me as i was thinking to apply for soc sec for my wife a few years ago. got the form but she only worked for two years age 14 to 16 , (child labor) then left for states. we never processed form. I am sure there are many who worked long enough to collect soc sec in eu. and then came here in later life. They are entitled to soc sec payments from the country they earned the credits. I do not know how the calculate the amount but got to think they contract soc sec here.
When i was a kid it was popular for some to get soc sec. age 65 then move to canada and collect canadian pension at age 70. i know of two workers who moved from Boston to St. John, New Brunswick and double dipped.. back in 1963. I bet that hole was closed up. ggg

Haqi--he did make the distinction in an earlier post; perhaps you missed it.

Employers are not required by law to do anything about health insurance. Theres someting called "Medicare" which a person pays out of his/her taxes : 1.5% of annual wages. It gives you the ability to be teated by a doc in hospitals/clinics etc as scheduled. If one does not like the 'public sector scheduling', one takes out Private Insurance (claimable on taxes), to have best choice & timing.
