I'm not so sure you could describe both parties as "the War Party". A lot of the Democrats have turned against the war. But even if you count them as a "war party" (perhaps because a lot of their members of congress voted for the war) that wouldn't mean elections would be a sham. There doesn't have to be a major party that shares your opinion in order for elections not to be a sham.
