"And how do you know that the accusations of the Swiftboat Veterans are false?"

What little objective proof there is, contradicts what the swift boat veterans claim. I suppose it is possible that Kerry managed to change the relevant records and brainwashed his commanding officers to say different things in the past. But if he has that kind of power, it might not be safe to keep him out of office...

I still am not sure how he managed to put bullet holes in that one swift boat, after the fact.

Win or lose, Kerry is an honorable man.

How do you know that?

By the way he deals in life......of course.

And how do you know that the accusations of the Swiftboat Veterans are false? What if they are all true. Does that tarnish Kerry a bit?

Because honorable people have come forward and said the accusations are; because the man who was saved by Kerry agrees with Kerry's understanding of the truth; because some of the people who are impugning Kerry nowwere honoring him just a few years ago.

The whole attack smells, and in the end, Bush will lose votes over it.

If Kerry is lying about his service in Vietnam that he is acting dishonorably. If everything he said about it is true then the swiftvets are acting dishonorably. But you just assume Kerry's statements are correct rather then those of the swiftvets or some muddled complex version in between the two claims.

I didn't assume anything.......I did a lot of reading on the subject while I was on SI holiday.

If the swiftvets I was a Kerry supporter I would be unlikely to change my vote to Bush (there are a lot of things I care more about then the candidates actions in Vietnam, unless they where an outright traitor or obvious war criminal I wouldn't change my vote based on someone's Vietnam history)

I wasn't asking you to change your vote.

Having said that, I suspect some people will if they find out that the Swifties are liars.....which I believe they will.
