<To bear all that overweight destroys the joint of your knees and the gordo needs expensive health care> To say nothing of all the other healthproblems "related" to it... obesity has the potential to make worry over smoking related heath care costs disappear very quickly. I've NEVER seen a better argument for NO government health care plan than a graph of obesity incidence in the US. dAK

<Disturbs people, while a dozen gordos around you do not bother, i.e., unless you're seated on a plane> Airline seats should be sold on a fee for the seat and then a $$ per kilogram formula, with everything weighed at check in. Weight is freight and it's weird that Jay, wife and Erita in a couple of years, travelling to Bora Bora with just a sun-hat each and maybe a toothbrush, weighing a total of 140 kg, but paying for 3 seats, should pay the same as three behemoths, travelling to a fat clinic to live for a year, with two big suitcases each and a load of duty free booze in the cabin, weighing a total of 500 kg. Who will then demand three meals each and scoff the drinks trolley. While inconveniencing and delaying everyone while they struggle to get on and off the plane and take a long time to get up and down escalators [electricity costs money too] because they don't walk while the escalator moves, etc... There should be flights provided which are for trim, efficient people, without checked baggage, minuscule carry on baggage, or none, in the interests of security. They could bid on-line for seats by declaring their weight to be carried. Airlines could travel always full, fully-loaded and fully profitable. Mqurice
