After all, I'm sure a lot of soldiers in Vietnam misrepresented wounds in order to get Purple Hearts and win themselves an early ticket out of the action.

You have no proof that Kerry did this...isn't it a sin to lie?

What disqualifies Kerry, if anything, is how he's portraying those medals and making it central to his campaign. Why?

Marketing...because in a political campaign in which bush is running as an unflinching, macho war man, Kerry needs to come through as strong on defense. Nothing more than how bush sold himself as a compassionate conservative who would not do nation building or be arrogant on the international stage. MArketing for fools, which is a large slice of the electorate.

Ten

I agree with you. It *ISN'T* so much the pettiness, but just that he is willing to use it now, 30 years later. It is tantamount to a fairless serious series of lies.

I know/knew many who served in Vietnam. All of them wanted out ASAP. I really don't know any who went to this extreme, however (or at least, any who admit it). I have no doubt it did occur with some frequency, however ... there were a lot of people there who didn't want to be and were willing to sustain significant injury to get the hell out.

Just so he can win the so-called "swing votes." And most of Kerry's supporters are reluctantly going along with the charade because more than anything, they want Bush gone.

"Reluctantly"? LOL.

Ten, I think you are beyond the kool aid and into the Powerade. I am voting for Kerry and I see no charade with which I should be ashamed. The more I read about Kerry, the more impressed I am. He is of true, presidential calibre. Apparently, you are not reading the articles being posted on this thread.
