yep, lots of items to increase sbux product costs and reduce margins if the consumers balk at increasing prices that are scheduled.

i personally just drink coffee without the tootie-fruity stuff sbux puts in the coffee. i almost never go to starbucks for coffee, because the sbux straight coffee is so bitter. since they cut it with the tootie-fruity stuff for most customers, i understand why their straight coffee has to be so bitter. i have concluded based on a market of just one that most sbux customers like the taste of coffee, but they don't like coffee.

<<The real pain will be felt by the barristas. If you have a drink that is $3.50 after tax, most folks just put the change in the little cup. If it is $3.95 after tax, same deal for the customer. But not for the tippee.>>

Huh? Aren't those people "paid" by their "employer"?

It ain't like they're bringing me a tray of tapas, or giving me indispensible advice on what to order. I tip 'em what they're worth....nada! I'll leave that to the yuppies and metrosexuals (however, I don't get the urge for a 5 buck cup of "coffee" much lately, so I doubt they really care....<G>)
