Which is why I say "lawyers! You can't live with them, you can't live without them." ;^) Today I got ready for a hearing on a Final Decree of Divorce, which by statue requires much verbiage, the damned thing is 9 pages long. Hurried to court only to find that my idiotic opposing counsel blew off the hearing (I wish they would disbar him) and the judge had maybe 100 criminal dispositions. He told me to come back next week. Fine by me, I gather up my stuff and hurry on to the next problem. You probably had a very similar life while working for Department of Education. You knew the ropes and when you hit a glitch, you smiled (whether you felt like it or not), and kept on keeping on. I have a kiss-kiss attitude to court personnel and administrative personnel, they know the ropes and can grease them or tie them into knots, depending on how you make them feel. I have perfected submissive tail-wagging to a fine art. ;^)

wstera_02 -- Few lawyers are really experienced with owcp. Those that are stay very busy,, and more often than not they are helping the undeserving as those are the ones that know how to play the system. The amount of fraudulent claims vs honest ones has everyone guilty until proven innocent. Ok, it's not right but if the other way no insurance company could survive. As it is many claims are paid as there are not enough knowlegable investigators to substanciate or dispute claims. Until working the owcp system no one can fathom all the obstacles. Unlike you, others are looking to get a huge settlement or lifetime payment, they are trying not to return to work no matter how able they are.
