If you have to hide and give up freedoms to be secure, who is to say the terrorists haven't won? While the ones who actually carry out the attacks might be in it only to kill people, the planners goals are different. First and foremost, they want to get their message out. Second, they want to disrupt the lives of their targets.

At least we aren't doing what the British are doing. Carpeting the country with video cameras isn't the answer, either.


As if any of that stuff will work. The Israelis are the most advanced and they can't stop it. We might all be forced to sit down and work out our differences. Nah......bombs are much more fun!

My preferred solution would be to take freedoms away from terrorists / suspected terrorists, but the prevalent thinking in this country is that it is "fairer" if everyone suffers unfairly somewhat than for a few to suffer (potentially) unfairly more. Nevemind that the sum of suffering is greater.
