Ted,

I know a thing or 2 about Austria. Arnold is right on the money, and the Austrian historian does not know the context and proper use of English language.

While we call countries of Eastern Block Communist, they call themselves Socialist. What we call (at least on the right of the spectrum) call Socialist countries, such as Sweden and Austria (in those days), they call, I don't know what, Social Democracy or whatever.

Arnold is speaking American English (with Austrian accent) with American context.

Historians description of parties is off base too (no doubt because he is looking at things while standing deep in left field). Austrian People's party is a centrist party, Social Democrats are leftists, Freedom Party is the right wing party.

The People's Party and Social Democrats were running the government for decades, probably the entire time while Arnold was there, and the policies of the government were big government, high tax, Socialist type.

Only recently, has the coalition changed from leftwing to right wing, as the centrist People's party joined with right wing Freedom Party.

Lies heaped on more lies......you all must go to confession........ALOT! Tell me seriously doesn't anyone from the GOP tell the truth! ;~)

And you are ready to jump to conclusions of any leftist journalist, however wrong he may be.

Joe
