Real Clear Politics sums it up:

If Kerry is truly the victim of a right-wing slime attack and all of these scurrilous charges are really just a pack of lies, then why hasn't he put this story to bed by walking out in front of the press and the American people, stared in to the camera, and explained how his honor has been trashed? Why hasn't he been willing to talk open and fully about his Vietnam service and dispel once and for all these vicious attacks on his character? More than anything else it is Kerry's reluctance, or inability, to answer these questions personally that is the most damning piece of evidence for the American public.

being from boston i do not remember ever seeing gun except on cops and gangsters.

Along with a few others, Massachusetts is a very special state. Only criminals carry concealed weapons there.

You can carry a gun on your front seat, that's plain view. Carry it out to the car in your hand, pointing downwards, put it on the front seat while you drive, put it in your trunk while at work.

I used to do that when I worked night shift while I was still in printing, had a job in the warehouse district that was dark and dangerous at night, but I'd carry the gun with me when I went into the building, not put it in the trunk.

But Louisiana is gun friendly, especially if you are law abiding, and even more for women.
