Think they were expecting more flowers and less bullets and a stronger iraqi response to zarquawi, al sader and former saddamites. The glass right now is half full/half empty. If this was clintons war the reps would say half empty but since its bushes the dems will say that. But in any case it aint great and there are no assurances that there will even be an iraq in the future, much less a democratic version. I will stick with my idea of giving them a firm date for our withdrawl for motivational purposes. In any case the fallback is 3 state solution. Trickle down casualties will eventually be opposed by american people who will come to believe that we are letting the dirtbags off the hook by not attacking their sanctuaries--faluja, sadr city.
And the left will always believe we are fighting an imperial war for oil. Much like vietnam two sources of opposition will eventually cause problems here. mike
