<We are by no means bringing anything like our full destructive power to bear.>

We have the power to kill every person on earth on a moments notice. We kill in Iraq -- we do it every day. Invading Iraq, establishing a military occupation and killing people on a daily basis might be your idea of "restraint" -- but it is not mine.

"If we were not restrained, Fallujah would be razed, and Najaf would have been gassed, to avoid damage to the mausoleum. We are by no means bringing anything like our full destructive power to bear. "

We have been both saying the same thing to GST. My question to you is whether we should take off the gloves? I am not sure that it would be worse than drip, drip, drip loss of life on both sides. GST would go mad the day we did it so we should take some leave of SI for that day. But seriously, what do you think the results would be after a full scale assault on faluja, other hotbeds and sadr city after the initial outcry? I am not saying carpet bomb them, just be far more aggressive that we have been. Thus more collateral damage--lives, mosques wherever they and their ammo hide out. Mike
