"I think its heading for the Gulf."

Even that might not help. Hurricanes can literally bounce off high pressure areas. And we've been getting cold fronts really early. Heck, our low is supposed to be 61 degrees tomorrow morning. In September. And this front is supposed to persist for the next few days. And that is going to bound the hurricane on the west.

I was trying to explain to my cousin the contra coastal effect that you talked about and how it effects hurricanes in the Gulf but I got lost in the middle of my explanation.

Can you repeat it? TIA.
