Mindmeld, RE: "Arrogance!"

Truth be told, it's probably not arrogance. You don't come across as arrogant at all, by the way. Possibly uninformed on many of the thoughts coming from many foreign countries though, if you don't mind my saying.

I noticed you didn't answer my question: do you travel internationally and have you listened to international people from around the world and have you asked them their opinion? We're not talking your relatives in the foreign service or your trip to Madrid (did you ask anyone what they thought about the war when you were there).

Do you even know anyone that is currently living in Iraq, Iran, Israel, etc. to gather various opinions?

Let's start out with answering this question first before we debate who is being less informed about the notion of imposing our brand of freedom onto another country and thinking that it's a perfectly "okay" thing to do.

I think you should call a war for what it is, a war. And not sugar-coat it. I also think you should get past the naive notion that we have the right to impose our culture onto another culture. Even some of the people in our govt realize this.

Regards,
Amy J
