Watching this CBS/Rather thing develop is rather (pun intended) like viewing a slow motion train wreck. I think it's going to blow up with a bang sometime next week. It will be fascinating to see who ends up falling on the sword over this.

Will the head honchos at CBS watch what's left of the credibility of their news department get totally destroyed or will they hang old Dan out to dry? And the most interesting question to be resolved is from where and whom did Rather get these obviously forged documents? If they came from someone connected to Kerry's campaign or other Dem sources, then this election is over and Kerry is burnt toast.

Another fascinating thing to watch is which of the other liberal media outfits, such as the NYT and Boston Globe, which so eagerly jumped all over the 60 Minutes report, will "mea culpa" and turn their guns on CBS to save their own reputations.

Without the internet, none of this phony business would have been revealed. The longer that Rather and CBS try to stonewall this, the worse it's going to be for them. It's about time that they get a deserved comeuppance for their long history of presenting biased partisanship masquerading as objective news reporting. I love every minute of this...
