From my readings these memos were most likely made on IBM executive typewriters, not selectrics, and didn't use a ball.

No military line units ever had IBM executive typewriters.

In today's dollars they cost over $10 thousand, some cost $14,000. They never got to active duty line units. NEVER. And certainly not in a NG unit.

And most importantly, the IBM executive did not have a key to make the tiny "th". That came later in the 80s with Wang.

I believe you could, as you pointed out earlier, get that with the proportional type balls. But the only way to change font size was to change balls.

What is really going on is Karl Rove's team data-mining for trivia.

You know me better than that. You of all people here know that I love to research and dig out precise facts.

If you are running out of arguments, I can accept that...but please don't accuse me of researching for anyone other than myself and my SI friends.
