"hard to imagine that "CBS" was an active participant."

how do you explain that they got two opinions before being aired that documents were forged and they ignored the mention of any dispute over the documents. How do you explain no mention of his wife or son's comments. of course cbs is an active participant in stone walling and had to be held responsible for holding these documents for four years and now releasing these forged documents 60 days before a presidential election. totally irresponsible and bias.

CBS is probably still trying to sort out the 'winker vs the 'winkee.

They still say no internal investigation. Rather (and Andrew Heyward, the head of CBS News) still insist that the memos are genuine (but even if they're not, they still raise "important issues"!)

it's hard to imagine that "CBS" was an active participant.

Dan Rather's role is critical. He is the public face of CBS News. And every "fact" he comes up with is shot down by the sharpshooters of not only the Web but now the Washington Post and ABCNews and FoxNews. But not only does CBS News not acknowledge any other reality but their own, they are now attacking as partisan political hacks the experts they themselves consulted who said the memos were likely forgeries. (Keep in mind CBS does not have any originals, only copies, of the memos).

but it's hard to imagine that "CBS" was an active participant.

Come on!

CBS withheld the two most obvious forgeries AND the interview information that disclosed that their "experts" declared them phony documents.
If that is not actively participating in a news fraud, I am typing in my sleep.

Quit sharpshooting in the dark. Print out the documents and look at them. The obvious is obvious.

I have a more basic question: who at CBS put those 4 memos on the Web? If CBS knew they were wonky, couldn't they figure out that making them public might not be a good idea?
