In the non-taxable accounts - no cap gains tax either.

With Fidelity, $8 to buy or sell...hmm..I'd better make sure that applies to Canadian stocks.

If I have about $6000 in stock, and can avoid a 3% decline,, then buy it, that's $180 saved, minus about $70 net dividend, minus $16 trading cost.

More important, right now I have places I think I can get about 5% in a few weeks.

Such as EGY oil in Africa and CCJ Uranium. I don't know if I can easily buy Jay's M&P compnay....

Vermillion, now 19.63, will touch 18.80 in the next 15 days.

Hi Malcolm,

My model portfolio for Energy Split is up over 8% from maybe three months ago, and since capital appreciation of that part paid for by the preferred shares goes to the capital shares, the "leverage factor" has raised NAV by about 15% over that period.

The premium has shrunk to 6.74% as of this week.

Let's hope the propane tank doesn't go empty on this wonderful hot air balloon.

As I need not tell you, there have also been two tax-deferred returns of capital in the same period, amounting to about 10% of my original purchase price.
