Bush 41%

>> It seems to me that a lot of people are acting like they were born yesterday.

This is a great point. Forget the debate about the obviously fake memos. Forget Dan Rather and his 60 Minutes story. The real question is, "So, what?".

There is no evidence, that I've seen, indicating Bush received "preferential treatment". But if he did, it wasn't substantive. The guy was a trained fighter pilot, served, and based on the available evidence (which includes an Honorable Discharge) served admirably.

Some have argued that Bush leapfrogged to the front of the line, but as G. Liddy has pointed out, there WAS NO LINE of credentialed people willing to be Guard fighter pilots.

This is politics. And it looks more like politics as the days wear on and the next false allegation comes out (most recent, Cheney's Haliburton "profit motive"). Honestly, I think Kerry is starting to look fairly pathetic to most people.

Joe,

Re: "It seems to me that a lot of people are acting like they were born yesterday."

It's all about politics, Joe ... These are the same people that had no problem
with Clinton avoiding the draft and protesting the war in England ... Their behavior is very "hypocritical".

Make It So,
Yousef

So back on point, Bush Sr wrote a letter encouraging suck-up behavior for the privileged, rather than taking the higher ethical ground by guiding the person to appropriate conduct.

You were never helped by your parents in number of ways that you may never ever find out about. And you will not try to give your kids the best start in life, way better than the underprivileged kids.

Bush I used his special power and privilege to get his son out of fighting in a war.........and you think that's okay.

And then Jr. turns around and abuses that privilege and still you think its okay.

No wonder the GOP is against AA and equal rights.
