The war in Iraq has failed. That is a fact. No other issues matters as much, especially crap that happened 35 years ago. We spent a month arguing about it. It only polarized our nation more. And it gave Hannity types the opporttunity to lie more about Kerry. All a big waste of time for both sides. It really hurt the nation. The smearvets especially badly damaged our country. What they did should be illegal. Actuyally it is. It's called libel.

Kerry's already damaged himself by basing his candidacy on his VN service. Get this straight: Even if Kerry had not used Vietnam as a platform, the Swifties would still have attacked him. The Bushies are deathly afraid of Kerry and, despite Bush's reported leads in the polls, they have not packed up and gone home and stock up on champagne to get ready for their big celebration in November. Saying that it is too late for Kerry to mount any worthwhile counterattack is I think premature and plain wishful thinking!
