They care about their own pocketbooks.>>> It is all about "Truth". I have absolute faith that there is "Truth". Only I don't always know what that is. Two plus two equals four. That seems to always work for me and it looks like it works for a lot of other people. There will be some very smart people (not many, I will grant you) that can convincingly prove to you that it is not true. But, for the most part I can see the truth eg "Kids (foreign or domestic) are mostly helpless - we must find some way to help them". I can see that and so can a lot of other people. I have absolute faith that if that is the right thing to do, most other people can see it also. To say that we can see what is right, but large numbers of Europeans or any other huge numbers of people can't - well, call me skeptical - if not downright not believing. It just so happens that we live in a country with tremendous natural resources, geographic advantages, a terrific Constitution, and cultural wisdom that has been handed down to us from every corner of the world. We live in a country that provides us with tremendous wealth and security. We should truly be thankful for what this country have done for us. Other than that, however, there is nothing that makes us as individuals better than anyone else. We are all human beings. We all have pretty much the same information available to us. Of course we would like to keep all the wealth that we have and work towards getting more. But, if we are smart, we would want to help others get theirs - so that at the very least - they don't get so jealous as to want to take it away from us. We are not alone on this planet. To go on - we will need to make friends. We will need to restore our friendship with our traditional allies and make more friends - and share our values with them and perhaps even share in some of their values.
