The wingnuts on these boards are not the masses .....

..........The wingnuts here are passionate and, arguably, rather intelligent. They just don't want to pay any taxes and love playing with guns.

The masses, though, for example, think Saddam was behind the attack on the Twin Towers. They are semiliterate and lack any intellectual curiosity at all. They are easily manipulated by devious politicians like those in office right now. They are basically lemmings and need four more years to see the true hideousness of the Bush years.

My understanding is that 42% of the electorate thinks Saddam was behind the Twin Towers attack, but that 80% of Fox viewers view that to be the case. As far as the manipulation is concerned, immediately after the release of the 9/11 Commission Report, Cheney challenged its findings and again proclaimed to the semiliterate masses that indeed Saddam was beind the attacks.

I just put it down to the allure of fascism. There are many in this country that feel we should be using our military power to force our vision on the world. I think they see Bush as their man, and refuse to see anything else, or to examine history.
