The reason I posted it was because it DID make sense, and was in direct contrast to Bush's assessment of late last week. Things ARE getting worse, they WON'T magically get better after elections, and it could go on and on...

I believe if Bush were more straight up about how things are getting worse, then he'd get more support. Kerry can legitimately attack him on Bush's self delusion that things are getting better.

I believe the only indication we'll have that things are truly getting better is when Iraqis stand up and out-fight the insurgents. They have to grab liberty with both hands if they want to keep it. The other scenerio is that the insurgents win, and impose their 'brand' of victory. Unfortunately, the longer and bloodier the battle, the harsher their brand of victory will be (example: Khmer Rouge).
