I may well be one of the few who do NOT believe that I am James Carville in disguise. James Carville makes no more sense to me than a barking dog or a man from another planet.

If I were George W. Bush, I'd be perfectly happy to go back to Crawford, Texas, and go on to the next phase of my life.

If I were John F. Kerry, I'd be secretly hoping that GWB won and had to deal with this mess all on his lonesome.

I have NO "fire in the belly." I want to cultivate my garden.

On 9/11 I felt nothing but outrage that my fellow Americans were suffering for something as abstract and unreal as Islamist fools not far out of puberty lusting for a glorious death and 72 virgins. "Go out and get laid, for heaven's sake! How hard can it be?"

But they won't let me alone, none of the little bastards.

I sympathize with my mother, who is 72, and never voted even once in her life, because she did not want to encourage them.

But she just registered to vote - yay, Mom! - so she can vote against Kerry, and for Bush.

As my Problems of Democracy teacher said, 35 years ago, quoting Churchill, although he did not give the attribution, democracy is the worst form of government in the world, except for all the rest.
