The Europeans followed the U.S. lead. If the U.S. was only going to send in a token force then that is all that you could expect from anyone else.

I see. If it fits your hare brained conspiracy theory, it must be true. If you can wish it, it must be true. Never mind the logistical impossibility of moving even the most mobile American armed forces there, the welfare armies of Europe (that had to borrow planes from Ukraine to move the handful of troops they have in Afghanistan) would surely met and exceeded the US capabilities.

While I don't know what it is to live a life of make believe you live in, but it could surely be a happy one. All you need to do is wish for something to be the case, and it automatically comes true (in your mind that is).
