<One was indonesia and the other i think was singapore/malaysia if i heard correctly. Arent these countries part of china too and if not yet will it be the son of GST arguing with our kids in the future about their status within the Peoples Republic?>

According to President Bush, Taiwan is part of China -- there might be a lunatic or two (perhaps yourself), who would try to make an idiotic comparison to Indonesia etc, but it would not be me.

There is always some reason to worry about big powerful near by countries, but an invasion or any sort of large direct military attack is unlikely. China might use force to control disputed Islands like the Spratly Islands, under the right circumstances it might attack Taiwan, but its not going to send an invasion force towards Singapore any time soon.
