We always spend our time in London shopping (Bond Street and thereabouts) and going to the theater. Definitely go to the half-price tickets booth (I forget the exact address but it's well-known). In the off-season like November, good tickets for the top shows should be available.

No particular restaurant recommendations - I'm sure there are great places but I never went to London for the food.

;<)

Enjoy your visit.

X - We were there in June. We stayed at the Grossnevor House near Hyde Park. Great location, spendy (we used my Marriot Rewards points), near several great pubs for Guiness and fish 'n chips. Walked from there to Buckinham Palace, Tower Bridge, Picadally Circus, Bond Street and then back to the hotel. Looong, but enjoyable.
While I enjoyed London, I was a bit shocked at the cost of everything. Bring plenty of cash. You'll need it.
Have fun!
Baton

Definitely set aside a day (or two) for the British Museum. IMHO, it is the best museum in the world (at least in parts of history I am interested in), better than the Louvre.

Go to the Sanderson Hotel for a drink one night, at their rectangular bar, passing through Starck's modernist decoration.

There is a little Morroccan cafe place that is very popular, with various flavoured teas, and cushions on the ground. It is right next to the famous Momo (in itself a good restaurant as well) and owned by the same people. In the link below to Momo, you can see this cafe - it is the left hand corner, with red carpet outside.

I don't know if this would be your thing, but go to Camden Town every time I find myself in London. Artists, second hand stores, pubs, street sales, etc. It is quite nice...

X try the Bombay Brasserie for a good Indian food experience.

It is across from the Gloucester Road tube station. Try the House Thali and sit in the garden area under the glass roof if you can. Forget what they call it, memory cells are dying.

And go to Farm Street Church in Mayfair on Sunday morning even if you are not Catholic (oldest Jesuit Church in England), have a drink afterward at the pub next door and sit in the park behind the church for me....I loved the place. Take a drive thru Richmond Park and go to the top of Richmond Hill and gaze out at the Thames. Hopefully the sun will be shining (better known in the UK as a period of brightness).

Also, just in passing, I had the opportunity this May to drive the Dalmatian Coast from Split to Dubrovnik. I know Europe reasonably well and I will say that this is a must see part of Europe, particulary now when it is still reasonably priced and still not inundated. I cannot say enough positive about Dubrovnik and the slow, beautiful, winding drive to get there.
I did not have the opportunity to get to any of the islands off the coast but hope to someday very soon.
