"Do you really think the insurgents hate us for our freedom?" I think it is a big part of the hatred from the terrorists and religious fanatics. So the insurgents that fit these categories do hate our freedom. But I don't think that is the only thing they hate us for. They have been trained to hate from early on, and I think a lot of it has to do with their pathetic standing in the world, and needing someone and something to blame. Similar (although on a much grander scale) to what the "black leaders" like Sharpton, Jackson and Rangle do with the black populace. Don't offer encouragement to succeed, promote self reliance or accentuate anything positive. Just blame whitey for their situation. It divides us, and keeps many blacks down. That said, many insugents are fighting like mad because they do not want democracy to succeed in Iraq because it would show too many people that Arabs can make it in this world too. Hard to make it with the current conditions unless you are a male and are born into the right situation. Especially when you will be killed for voicing an opinion that the dictators or religious fanatics don't agree with. Did you know that the legal age for a girl to get married in Iran is NINE? That was instituted when the Ayatolla took over. There is progress though, because now you actually have to get the parent's permission if the girl is under 13. The insurgents DO NOT WANT IRAQ to go democratic and free. And the leftists that are against our cause do not want them to either it seems to me.
