Kumar,

Nomenclature gets very difficult in this PC world. Most of the terrorists are muslim, but as you point out - so are most of the victims. Its clear that the jihadi's (if that is an acceptable term) do not like anyone outside of their Sunni extremist (Wahabi?) views.

What would be an acceptable way of referring to these terrorists? They play off religion, so it is difficult to separate out this issue.

Its like differentiating Germans and Nazi's. Its the same population, but until muslims stop tolerating the jihadi's among them they invite this kind of attitude - in the same way the Germans did in WW2.

John

>>Its no secret that some on this thread have stated an "anti-Muslim-religion" line of thought.

Interesting train of thought. Ridiculous, too, but you don't seem to realize this, which is a shame.

Your argument - if one of us - me, for example - dislikes Islamism, aka radical fundamentalist Islam because it's intolerant and encourages murder in the name of God/Allah, then I must not care when any Muslim is killed.

After all, they're "just Muslims." Their religion makes their lives worthless to me. That's what you're saying.

Bizarre.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for not commenting on the dead, first, I was not aware of the incident, but second, how many Muslims are killed every day by Muslim terrorists? How many non-Muslims are killed every day by Muslim terrorists?
Thousands upon thousands every year.
Which is exactly why I, and others on this thread, abhor Islamism.
Look at Darfur. Look at Chechenya. Look at Iraq. Look at Israel. How many are killed every day? If we commented on every incident, we'd talk about nothing else.
Edit: I see two other incidents within the last day or two - one in Waziristan - three dead children - one in Quetta - one dead, eight injured.
Using your "logic," you must hate these people because you did not comment on THEIR deaths.
Edit again: a bomb in Lebanon killed a politician and his driver; bomb in Falluja; three bombs in Baghdad.
You must hate Middle Easterners, you didn't mention them.
Count me as very perplexed with the Muslim world, and angry. One thousand years ago it held the high ground in poetry, libraries, books, art, mathematics, and other fields. Baghdad was the most civilized city on earth. Now it seems Islam is mired in a medieval swamp, making little progress beyond blaming infidels for its problems and attacking innocents in order to provoke conflict.
The voices of Muslims who disagree with radicalism and terrorism are lost in the wind, if they say anything at all. Islam must take responsibility for its own, disavow terrorism in a way that makes a real difference. It must stamp it out just as the Christian world stamped out slavery in its own midst.
You remember a few years back when American spent our lives and wealth defending Muslims in Kosovo against a "Christian" tyrant? Why are we not seeing anything like this in Islam? Even a meaningful protest against terrorism seems to be beyond possibility. We should see protests and marching in the streets against terrorism. Because Muslims are being hurt. They are being hurt in their heartland and they are being hurt in the hearts of people like me.
Islam has the potential to participate as one of three great religions on earth. For myself, I would like to live and let live. Making enemies of people like me, who life-long have been tolerant and accepting of others different from themselves, is NOT the way to go. It gives the impression that there is no hope for peace by peacable means. I don't like to think about the alternative.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.
Its no secret that some on this thread have stated an "anti-Muslim-religion" line of thought.
It's no secret that some Muslims are determined to kill all Jews, kill all Americans, and kill all Christians.
IMO it is not the Muslim religion that concerns us...It is the actions of some of the Muslim religious leaders and their followers.
Surely you understand that those who have been targeted for murder might be opposed to those determined to kill them.
And surely you know that it is Muslim leaders commanding their Muslim followers to kill all Jews, kill all Americans, and kill all Christians.
When the Irish Republican Army and the Red Brigade terrorists start blowing up buildings in NYC and school houses in Russia, we Americans will get pissed off at them too.
