Sounds more like Repubicans to me. "Exalts big government"...I beg to differ.bls.gov Go towards the bottom of the page and check off Federal employees except Postal workers. Click on "Retrieve Data"; Select the years, eg., 1981-2004. [Note: there are some one month blips in 1989 and 2000 not sure what those are.] There are increases in the Federal work force during the Reagan Administration, the Bush Sr. Administration and the Bush Jr. Administration; while there is a significant reduction in the Federal Work Force during the Clinton Administration. Then go to: heritage.org Clinton was the only President that spent less Federal $/taxpayer than his predecessor. Carter was only marginally higher than Ford. LBJ was a notorious big spender, but Nixon beat him. Ford....the Vietnam War was over, yet he managed to substantially increase Federal Spending. Then there was Reagan and Bush Sr. who did a very fine job pumping up Federal expenditures. I do wish that Heritage would update their chart for Bush Jr....he'll blow the top off. Both data sources show that while the Republicans talk big about Democrats exalting big government, it's the Republicans that are doing it. Unfortunately, there are some conservatives that are too stupid to look it up. Fortunately, you're not one of them. jttmab
