Peter, Things that remain static become obsolete.

I'm not sure how you expect the U.N. to move forward, if at all. Seems like most of the world wants the U.N. to move forward, but no one can agree as to how, and everyone is too preoccupied blaming America anyway.

Watch as the next superpower China changes this dynamic ...

Why would we want to join an organization that is corrupt at the roots? We bash the UN becasue like many institutions it was made to address the problems of the decade in which it was born.

What constitutes corruption in your mind?

The UN may be good at addresses inter-national conflict. (It has not proven effective lately.) It is terrible about intra-national conflict. The UN passed resolutions condemning Iraq, North Korea, Iran, Bosnia, Sudan, etc. The UN has not solved any of these problems.

It was never given the power to solve those problems. Its dependent on the 6 vetoes on the Sec. Council.

Things that remain static become obsolete.

We can't afford for it to go absolete. The world is changing very fast. Today, I posted an article re. China. They are predicting that within a couple of decades China may outstrip the US as an economic power. The world is getting way too small. We need a world forum.
