I think blaming the decline in the US Dollar and the over-priced stock markets on "terrorist attacks" is one of the biggest attempts at misdirection I have ever seen.

I have an Uncle who foolishly lost several million in the stock market decline. He blames this on 9-11 which leaves me baffled.

His portfolio had been losing value since May 2000 and somehow these losses were caused by an even in September 2001. My Aunt realizes these events are completely unrelated, but somehow my very intelligent Uncle has the time-line all mixed-up in his mind. I can't believe the nonsense I've heard from him. I'm sure a psychologist could explain this - I can't.
