Sam,

Thanks for your idea which you had mentioned to me earlier, and which in fact led me to start this thread in the first place.

The AMD/INTC trade is indeed outside my core competency. But it happens to be the only pure pair trade I'm actually involved in right now, and so it seemed a logical place to start. In general, paired trades in biotechs tend to be somewhat unusual, as most biotech fundamentals are pretty independent of each other. Further, when I am short a small biotech I prefer not to publicly disclose it.

My only notable pair trade in biotechs earlier this year was long ELN and short BIIB when the Antegren news first came out and BIIB soared many more points than did ELN, even though BIIB and ELN each own the same 50% stake in the compound and BIIB's Avonex is going to get cannibalized by Antegren. (I remain long ELN although the BIIB short has since been closed out).

Turning to your "death of radio" theme, I assume it is only a matter of time before someone comes out with a simple version of Tivo-for-radio that allows you to skip commercials. You set it to the station you want to listen to, and then surf other stations for a while while it builds up a buffer of your chosen station. You then get to listen to your chosen station without interruptions, skipping commercials as they come.
