You're right. I don't pass the test, but I'm going to vote for Kerry anyway because I fear Bush more than I fear Kerry or terrorists.

A vote for Bush means pandering to the right with by cluttering up our Constitution with amendments to define marriage, balance the budget (with loopholes), end a woman's right to choose and ban flag burning. Bush has spoken in favor of all.

If the Bush appointments to the Federal Bench are any guide, A vote for Bush means the Supreme Court will be packed with strict constructionists vetted by the religious right. For those of you who don't know the difference, liberals believe the constitution should be interperted in ways that expand rights. Conservatives believe that, if the right isn't there in black and white you don't have it. In other words, conservative legislators can do what they darn well please.

A vote for Bush means open season on the environment. Want to drill anywhere, mine anywhere? Need roads through the last of America's virgin wilderness? No problem.

Are you concerned about terror? Vote for Bush and you can protect yourself and your loved ones with fully automatic rapid fire weapons... the kind that hunters would never use because it destroys the animal.

Concerned about the deficit? Vote Bush. As Cheney
said: "Reagan proved that deficits don't matter."

Want straight talk on defense? Vote for Bush. He's been saying for months that Kerry voted against protective vests for our troops. No matter that the vests were a million dollar item in a $300 billion bill that Kerry voted against because of the billions earmarked for the Crusader cannon - a program that Rumsfeld subsequently cancelled anyway.

Want experience? Vote Bush. He was a Texas gov who made all of three overseas trips in his lifetime before becoming President. You also get Condi Rice, a cold war Russia expert. And Tom Ridge, a former Gov with little security experience to head up Homeland Security. And Ashcroft as Attorney Gerneral - a real sicko who sings like an eagle, covers statues and, according to sworn testimony from carreer agents, didn't want to hear about terrorism before September 11th.

Want a keen eye for people? Vote Bush. He looked into the eyes of a the former head of the KGB, saw his soul, and pronounced him trustworthy.

Want a President who is willing to answer the hard questions? Vote Bush. He'll answer questions at his annual press conference - the fewest in modern times.

Want more govt secrets? No problem. Vote Bush. They've classified "Top Secret" far more documents than any other administration.

Want honest accounting in Govt? Vote Bush. He fired Larry Lindsey who made the mistake of publicly estimating the cost of the Iraqi war at $200 billion. You also get the obscure govt accountant who was threatened because he calculated the President's Prescription Drug Plan would cost hundreds of billions more than what Congress was told.

Glad Saddam is gone? Vote Bush. He routed the despot who was a danger to world peace - even though his army was corrupt and essentially worthless, had no navy, no air force and couldn't fly a kite over 2/3 of his country. No mater that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the esteemed Condi Rice said before 9/11 that Saddam was not a threat. 9/11 changed everything. Saddam is now a threat.

Want to stop the North Korean nuclear bomb? Vote Bush. He gave the Koreans the silent treatment for two years before asking our dear and trusted friends, the Chinese, to yada yada with the North Koreans.

Concerned about national security. Vote Bush. Kerry is soft on defense, no matter what John Mccain says.

Want a fair tax system. Vote Bush. Everyone pays taxes. Everybody gets a refund. So what if 90% of the cut goes to the richest 1% of the population. It's to revive the economy, stupid.

Want a moderate Republican candidate for President? Vote Bush. He's a moderate republican - during the campaign. It's after the election that the he strokes his base.

Want a guy who brags about his little coalition then blasts Kerry for advocating working in concert with world? Vote Bush.

This is from a few months ago so your guess is as good as mine as to what the numbers would look like today - but it suggests Bush isn't going to sweep the military, as JB Williams suggests...

Pennsylvania voters disapprove 52 – 45 percent of the job Bush is doing. By a narrow 48 – 46 percent margin, they say going to war in Iraq was the wrong thing to do.

Military veterans or voters with a household member who is a veteran or currently in active duty or reserve service support Kerry 46 – 42 percent, with 6 percent for Nader.

These voters from military families say 54 – 41 percent that the war is wrong.

“In what may prove to be damaging news for the President, the anti-war attitude among voters from military households in Pennsylvania is greater than the attitude among all voters. Kerry holds the same slim lead among these voters that he has among the electorate in general,” Richards added.

In order to cast a vote for John Kerry, you first have to believe he is fit to be commander in chief. Now some don't believe he is, namely 95% of all the decorated vets who served beside him in Vietnam, more than 70% of all living retired military personnel, and more than 80% of those serving in combat today. But what do they know?
