Cheney was indeed evacuated, as was Rice and the rest of the WH. Secret Service followed their contingency planning to the letter. And I'll betcha they didn't all go to the same place. That's another important facet in contingency planning for continuity of leadership. See, if all the eggs are in one basket... and the basket drops...

And, very much like Nebraska which really does have telephones and even a few internet routers, the evac destinations chosen were likely geared to have communications ammenities, bathrooms, a couple of magazines and probably some snacks, too. The more obvious parts of contingency planning seem to have escaped from this thread, so I thought we should review. Today's impressive multi-syllabic word is e•mur•jint•see.
