He wore a suit. He talked. He challenged Charlie Gibson with his microphone. When asked about any mistakes he's ever made, he said history would be the judge.

Kerry won the debate, but it was close. Why was it close? Because Bush managed to step over a very low bar. Bush didn't cry, he didn't bolt from the stage, but he rarely answered the questions and when he did he resorted to platitudes and insults.

Kerry was Presidential. He answered with specifics. He did seem tired at the end of the debate and struggled with the abortion and stem cell research questions. Overall, Kerry did a very good job.

Kerry: 2 for 2.

Kerry sounds way more informed than Bush on the issues.

Bush seems to retrench back to his stump speech points. He seemed to be missing, IMO. A little out of synch, like a v6 with one bad spark plug. He was better this debate than last, but not much.
