The question was asked of someone else; "what would you do if you were in charge?"

I personally would make a priority of intelligence and covert action.

I think one of the bigger mistakes we made was to have a policy in effect that says we cannot assassinate foreign leaders.

I see no reason to hamstring ourselves. Is this something mandated by the Geneva Convention? Must we hold on to this? Do our enemies adhere to the same restraints?

Has Bush effectively steered away from this policy?

Can't we do MUCH more to protect and enhance our national interest without broadcasting our intent?

I am not interested in being perceived as a troll.

I checked your posts when you first showed up. To me, a "troll" is someone who pops in from other liberal theads to start an argument here. That is not your pattern. Most of your posts have been here. You have made a couple of posts that I thought were over the line, but most of them have been serious. And you have got zinged a couple of times in a personal way.

I try to encourage other points of view here, but it is almost impossible for everybody to keep their tempers this close to the election. I hope you can enjoy yourself here without this thread turning into a "your another." That will cause me to take action.

I have gone to PM's to caution people now, rather than open posts. I think this is fairer. So if some here think that people have got away with personal attacks, they are wrong. I just don't publish the cautions.

SI Dave has taken down all pre-bans on moderated threads. That is why you see us down to 26 bans. I hope this does not cause problems. TWT.
