Bush has already created HUGE GOVERNMENT. What makes the GOP think they have any traction on that issue anymore? Bush is the biggest government-grower and biggest deficit spender of all time.

This is a red herring. Even if Kerry wants to, he cannot have huge government since the House and possibly even the Senate will be controlled by Republicans.

As the 90's demonstrated, gridlock is good. But we have seen what happens when there is no gridlock. Congress and the WH both belong to the Republicans now, and so we have Dumbya and his gang spending our children's money like drunken sailors.

Here is how Kerry has said he will reduce the deficit (as I've written for months):

1) Rollback Bush tax cuts on those making over $200K. This will bring in between $50 and $100 Billion per year. Most recent estimate is $85 Billion per year starting in the first year.

2) Change tax rules on major corporations for overseas profits. ~$40 Billion per year starting in the first year.

3) Kerry has an exit strategy for Iraq. Savings ~$80 Billion per year by the 4th year.

Just those 3 ideas cut the deficit from $420 Billion to $215 Billion by 2008. Kerry's spending plans will be scaled back to meet his fiscal goals. Personally, I think his healthcare plan will be net positive.

What is the Bush plan? More of the same and more tax cuts.
