You and others are missing the point of my post. It wasn;t about whether Kerry's using Reeve's name is politically ugly or tasteless: it was a response to the indignant claim that Kerry LIED about Reeve calling him on Sat. and the outrage expressed that he would LIE, and deserves to burn in hell.
(JDN:Then to actually LIE about it is really awful. God will have a special place in HELL for Kerry some day

After Lindy said he heard it elsewhere I googled again, and found NO statment that backed up a coma on Thurs, nothing that would preclude an early call to Kerry on Sat.
Poor taste and political posturing are different from out and out lies, and the appropriateness of Kerry's using Reeve is debatable.

Reeve's life after his accident was devoted to the cause of spinal injuries; I am not sure he would object to his name being used - I have no idea, but I can see an argument that he would have approved. I read that Reeve was a liberal Democrat and he certainly was a tireless proponent for stem cell research-- which Kerry happens to back.

I am just very, very tired of kneejerk outrage-
"Kerry snuck notes into the debate! He cheated!"
"Bush was wired! Rove was feeding him his answers!"
"A teacher was fired for putting up a picture of the president! Outrageous!" (the statement by the school indicates at least another side to this story)

There was an article in the Dallas paper a week ago about all the Kerry signs being stolen in Plano (wealthy suburb). Lots of outraged Dems writing letters.
They should move to Andrew's neighborhood.

Both sides do this-- I just hate it. Period. ANd when I see something that adds to this tendency to go ballistic before the facts are all in, it bothers me.
ANd this was such a case.
