Unfortunately, I think that the price drops in the spot market (as tracked by DRAMexchange) ended up providing a good guide for what was also happening in the contract market.

But didn't the spot price reverse about six weeks ago or so;
it's up 35% or so from the low

Agreed. They have always been so good at leveraging their position to cut prices aggressively, and preemptively, to better their position and manage their inventories ... especially into new offerings. I think this one hit them mid-quarter and they essentially pulled a LEXR. :o)

I am filing this one under "O" for ouch.

What are your thoughts longer term. I am thinking that I will continue to trade it short term and use this opportunity to buy some longer calls or leaps.
