You may isolate yourself on your little "island", "cleaving" to like minded elitists who seek the comfort of "homogeneity", "validation" & "refining our beliefs", where you look down upon the clueless, simple minded "others". No doubt there is plenty of comfort for you & your groupthinking peers on your little "island". Oh the joys of whiling away the hours as you "further conform and further validate" & "interpret the world" to fit your version of reality, far from any dissenting opinions. Well, that's all very nice. But what we were talking about was whether the average American will be more likely or less likely to enlist in the military if John Kerry gets elected, and why. I recognize that you SAY you think that saying "not patriotic" is not the same thing as saying "unpatriotic," but for the life of me I can't see how. I don't think I am the only one who thinks that what you are really saying is that you and your friends think it's the obligation of "flag wavers" to enlist in whatever war John Kerry thinks is a good idea, just because he's the President. After all, it's THEIR (flag wavers) patriotic duty to get their asses shot off in order to protect your cosmopolitan enclave. That's the way it's always been, and by God, that's the way it always will be. And if the "flag wavers" have other ideas, just call them names. Make fun of them. They'll do stupid things just to prove that you're wrong.
