what i forgot to mention that most folks think iraq is a mess whether they support bush, kerry or are yet undecided. The grinding news of the war with 4 dead every day is also eroding bush support among indys.

1. Bush kicked ass.

2.Look at the longer term polls, not these high margin of error spot checks.

3. Kerry looked terrible at the beginning of the debate, although better towards the end. Made me wonder if internal polling were bad.

4. The reference to the daughter was gratuitous, and almost certainly an attempt to stir up the presumed homophobes among conservatives against the ticket. It was disgusting.

I caught some of the debate and thought Bush did well and Kerry did not.

In particular, I think Kerry's insertion of Cheney's daughter by name into the debate was cheap, particularly since it followed Edwards doing the same thing. No coincidence. And Kerry mishandled the personal question regarding his wife badly - first the poor joke and then the shifting to his mother.

None of that has anything to do with issues. Just the kind of person one is.
