A question for this thread- I remember reading somewhere that typically the jump drives just have 2 Nand Flash chips and a controller. I see Lexar has a 1GB jump drive for 39.99 AR at outpost.com. I wonder from where are they getting the 4Gbit chips to make these jump drives? (2*4Gbit= 8Gbit= 1GByte)
