Ted: People have got to get away from two kinds of thinking. One is that being gay is a lifestyle. That sounds as though one has a choice. One doesn't. AND that is what I think Kerry was getting at. One cannot change ones eye color nor can one undo sexual proclivities... Do you want to not be heterosexual. Think about it. Do you really have choice. I think the way in which Kerry phrased his sentence was to provide insight into the fact that Mary did not choose her Lesbianism. The second thing is that there is a Gay Agenda which is what the neo conservatives put out there. It is as though the gays are going to take over the world.... The same could have been said about the blacks. Until BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL was made a slogan a lot of Blacks I knew wished they had been born white.
