People have got to get away from two kinds of thinking. One is that being gay is a lifestyle. That sounds as though one has a choice. One doesn't. AND that is what I think Kerry was getting at. One cannot change ones eye color nor can one undo sexual proclivities... Do you want to not be heterosexual. Think about it. Do you really have choice. I think the way in which Kerry phrased his sentence was to provide insight into the fact that Mary did not choose her Lesbianism. Actually, when Brian made the comment re. the dress, he made it seem like being gay was a choice. That's why I said lifestyle but I can see that might have been a mistake. The second thing is that there is a Gay Agenda which is what the neo conservatives put out there. It is as though the gays are going to take over the world.... The same could have been said about the blacks. Until BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL was made a slogan a lot of Blacks I knew wished they had been born white. I hear ya. ted

Suma, another excellent post! Very shocking poll on CNN showed only 40% said they would vote for a gay President. I was stunned as to how biased this country is against gay people. Totally shocking. Rather disappointing how uneducated the country is overall. It's amazing how the laws make it illegal to discriminate against gay people when hiring, but then it's perfectly acceptable to discriminate when hiring for the president of the USA. Ironic hey?
