Actually Mary's name first came up WHEN Mr. Cheney was asked what he thought about the Amendment to the Constitution that Mr. Bush is proposing against gay marriage. I think his answer was just like this. Well, as you know I have a gay daughter, Mary... Or our daughter is gay as most of you know. AND I think that I want the States to decide issues like this. However I think the President wants to have it an issue for a proposed Amendment... THERE it is out in the open. Then in the VP debates I think again that issue was raised, not be Edwards but by one of the questions but again Cheney brought it up. Kerry is responsible for what he said. BY THE WAY it is the Democrats who are gay friendly, not the Republicans. The log cabin Republicans are not voting for Bush. They were a big part of the Republican platform... all gay.
