No charges, no jail, not even knowing whether a valid order was given by a non-com or whoever.

Exactly the line I was thinking.

If in fact they did disobey a lawful order in combat, I would have expected same day court-martial charges and immediate pre-trial confinement to get them out of the unit.

If it is just troops bitching....well troops have a right to bitch and some exercise it often.

Your right and I was. Worse then that I'm taking what the press said at face value and that is absurd.
