Where are the 28 pages from the 9-11 report which Bush censored, having to do with the Saudi role in 9-11? Why did Bush call off FBi investigations into saudis in 2001, and why did he let all the top Saudis and Bin Laudens out of the US without interrogation on 9-12/9-13?

How can you blame Clinton and call "liberal" presidents dangerous yadayadayada when Larry Thompson, Asscroft's man, formally approved the 1995 guidelines on Aug 6, 2001? Oh... and the FISA was passed in 1978 and signed into law by George H.W. Bush...

The memo, Ashcroft said, misinterpreted the FISA statute as forbidding information-sharing between intelligence and criminal-investigation agents. But Mr Ashcroft’s use of the document backfired when another commissioner, Slade Gorton, pointed out that Mr Ashcroft’s own Justice Department had upheld Ms Gorelick’s interpretation of the FISA in 2001."

Mr. Ashcroft's own deputy attorney general, Larry Thompson, formally reaffirmed the 1995 guidelines in an Aug. 6, 2001, memo addressed to the FBI and the Justice Department. Ashcroft has charged that the guidelines hampered the department's ability to pursue terrorists Zacarias Moussaoui, Khalid al-Midhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi in August 2001, but his own department had endorsed those guidelines at the pivotal time.
