If one or both of them are cheaters, I want to know it. If with my own eyes I can see something in a bunch of pictures and I'm told "You don't see that," I don't think, "Oh, okay, if you say so, Sir."

Everybody's different.

When I was a child and asked my parents "Why?", they answered the question and never said, "Because I say so." My parents weren't perfect, but even when I was very young, I appreciated that difference between them and some of my friends' parents.
Maybe that is what makes me think I have a right to know what I see on my president's back when he's talking to the country, and why and "It's not there because I say it's not" isn't good enough. At least not for me, it's not.

And I want to know if Kerry cheated, too. Since you didn't provide the links I asked for, but only insinuations, I googled

Kerry hand pocket debate

and found the 2 links at the bottom of the page.

Plenty of videos. You can zoom and you can pause.

Kerry took something out of his pocket. He made no effort to hide it, just did it, out in the open and in front of the cameras. He reached into his inside jacket pocket with his left hand, in full view of the camera to the rear at the beginning, and in full few of the right side of the audience at the end, removed something and placed it on the podium.

What was it? There is much speculation and discussion at those links about what it was.

Here are Republicans talking about Kerry:

~I think he cheated BIG time...Oh boy, if he did there goes the ballgame...If the guy can't obey rules they agree on, what will he do as President

~Whether Kerry tried to get a leg up, given the widespread belief that he's such a good natural debater, is a legitimate question [that] would speak to the character of the individuals, something I think is important.

~Kerry cheated.

~ Kerry broke a rule....a rule that he agreed to...If Bush did this there would be calls for impeachment.. But, since it was a Democrat that did this....it is ok....no harm done.. Fox is starting to play this....But, really..you folks really think it is ok to completely disregard rules that were made? You have no problem with that? If not....then that amazes me.....
Perhaps the Dems should have their motto be, "Rules are made for breaking"....

~etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

You're right, the Republicans made a big thing of it, and I missed it. It was a Drudge headline!

Here's the final update. It's titled

"Mystery Solved," and her it is:

(glitch! I have to put links at the bottom of the page or they bold and/or underline stuff!)

I wasn't surprised when I came to that, because with my own eyes, I'd seen that the white thing was his cuff and he'd taken a pen out of his pocket.

I bothered to do this, because I care if my candidate is a cheater. I don't like it that he did that tacky thing of mentioning Cheney's daughter, and I don't like that Clinton raped Juanita Broaderick, and if Kerry had taken in a white strip of paper with notes on it against the rules, I want to know it.

I wonder if the false accusations that Kerry cheated were raised on this thread, and if so, if a whole lot of RWers posted indignantly that they "don't care" if the Democratic candidate cheated.

As I said, I don't know if Bush was getting answers when he had that pronounced vertical ridge in his tee shirt in the truck, as he had an "impromptu" press conference on the ranch.

I don't know why he has a voice read him his speeches and copies their inflections, even.

All I know is the WH can't tell me there was nothing under his tee shirt or under his suit, and if they try to, I suspect that there's something they're trying to hide, and I want to know... why.

Everybody's different.

In my search, I came across references to something that happened during the debate. I'll look for when I watch it. It's mentioned here:

Here's a photo I hadn't seen that won't interest you, I fear. You have to scroll all the way down to the bottom, almost:
