WoW! Just think of Kerry in the septic tank (where he belongs) if just a few of his military documents come to light. He is already whinning about what he so proudly testified during the '70s. That is public record-- how about what he is hiding? Poor boy,,

If someone asked you to produce all of your financial records from 30 years ago, could you do it?

The official government documents add to the amount of information that the public knows

It is important imo to understand what is going on here. This is my interpretation.

Official military personnel files are kept in a repository in St Louis. These are the files that get released when you sign a form 180. All of the GWB personnel files have been released because he ordered them released.
100 pages of J Kerry personnel files have not been released because he refuses to allow it.

The two lawyers have been looking at unit files. That is a completely different matter from personal personnel files.
There is virtually no way for an individual to know what may or may not be kept in a unit file. The individual would likely know not about such records. And unlike a personnel file, the individual would never have reviewed a unit file and signed off for accuracy or any other reason.

The unit file likely contains unit orders for such things as training, TDY, etc.. Yes, individual names will be listed but these orders may or more likely may not ever get into a personnel file. It would not be unusual for a member to not even know the orders exist.

Let me give an example. I made 596 Parachute jumps. Every one of them should have had a jump manifest order cut with the names of the jumpers and they probably did. This is done for parachute pay records, advanced qualifications awards, etc.. The only jump manifests that I ever saw that had my name on them were the ones I signed, when I was jumpmaster for that drop. None of those orders ever got into my personnel file.

Another example. I had a military driver's license in my pocket. My license qualification records for various vehicles were kept in the unit. I have no recollection of ever seeing mine and they did not get placed in my personnel record.

The records being talked about by AP are not GWB personnel records, those personnel records have been 100% released. The new records are unit records.

I know of no unit records ever being released on John Kerry. And I know Kerry's personnel record release was highly selective. In Kerry's case, and unlike GW, 100+ pages of Kerry's personnel records are being deliberately hidden from public view.
